½ glass of Hoisin sauce
2-4 tbsp rice wine or orange juice or water
Mix the Hoisin sauce with the rice wine, orange juice, or water. Bring the mixture to a simmer (do not boil!) and stir.

Use the sauce for Peking duck pancakes, or prepare a substitute: 1. Prepare soy chunks: Soak soy chunks in water for 5 minutes, drain, and squeeze out the remaining liquid. 2. Fry the soy chunks in oil with a pinch of salt. 3. Mix the fried soy chunks or seitan with the prepared hoisin sauce. Alternative use: Use the hoisin sauce as a steak sauce mixed with chopped peanuts or pistachios."
